Current Events: Hikers behind Iranian Jail cells for 2 years.

This week, my current events got deleted, or I didn't save, or some similar case, so I need to make it all over again because I just noticed it's not there and I can't get it back. Anyways my Current Events this week is about 2 prisoners who were in Iranian Prison for 2 years, and another one whom was released one year earlier.

"Sarah, Josh and I have experienced a taste of the Iranian regime's brutality. We have been held in almost total isolation from the world and everything we love, stripped of our rights and freedom," Bauer said.

Fattal, Bauer and Bauer's now-fiancee, Sarah Shourd, were arrested after straying across the unmarked border between Iraqi Kurdistan and Iran in July 2009. Shourd was released in 2010, but Bauer and Fattal were freed only Wednesday, after 781 days in captivity that Bauer said was based on "ridiculous lies."

Worse, Fattal said, "Many times -- too many times -- we heard the screams of other prisoners being beaten, and there was nothing we could do to help them."

In conclusion what i feel about this is that it isn't right to put them in such conditions where they had 15 minutes of calls home throughout the 2 years, etc. If i would have been put in such a situation I don't know what i would do, whereas they are grown ups and i am still young, so who am i to compare myself? All in all, i feel this article changed they way i think about the world, by making me think 'outside the box' or in this case, outside my environment.

  1. Interesting article and definitely a tough situation - but what does it have to do with chemistry?
